The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Portland District has an opening for a Structural Design Engineer in the Engineering and Construction, Structural Design Section. Portland District is responsible for civil works projects on the Columbia River basin (Bonneville, The Dalles and John Day Lock and Dams), the Willamette River Basin, and the Rogue River Basin. The locks and dams provide power generation, flood control, navigation and recreation. The work at Portland District currently includes upgrades for fish passage improvements (both upstream adult, and downstream juvenile fish), and infrastructure upgrades to spillways, spillway gates, navigation locks and gates. The position will entail performing structural calculations, preparing reports, specifications, drawings, inspections and working in a team environment.
